My Emotional Content..............

I had a dream last night. When I woke up at 6 a.m., I couldn't understand why I would dream something so expansive. I don't want to go in details, but it's deep. Basically, I just care so much....like I try and help as many people I can, I am there for everyone, and my happiness is based on the appreciation of my generosity. Now I see, that I have to work twice as hard to get what some people have fall in their lap. I'm not complaining, I just don't get why. I just need to get these emotions out in a song......I don't even know why I'm writing it. Like I don't want to sound selfish, but I deserve the best. I don't deserve to be hurt again......I try to be as selfless as possible and anyone real close to me can say that about me. I help others get ahead, but I never concentrate on myself. I'm always the one to put in work for others feelings to help them feel better, and even after I tell some people my advice they turn right around and do the same juvenille actions. Part of me feel like everyone is living and having life, making mistakes and enjoying the learning process....partying, being care free, living with no restrictions.......and I'm always expected to be perfect, and nobody understands the pressure I have on my last name. IDK.......I just have mixed emotions right now.......well, just read this........

What's Wrong With Me?

Is it a lie to myself that I think I’m a good person? Like it may seem a stupid question. But yes, there are people more morally perfect than me…..and many are morally imperfect. Is God trying to test me again? I told myself these high school thoughts were over but when people provoke the triggers for certain emotion, the mind and body reacts a certain way. Is it so fun for people to play with my emotions cause they think, “Oh….it’s just Michael…..what will he do if I treat him wrong…..frown? lol”….or they have a ‘what have you done for me lately’ feeling. To have people say I’m too nice is utter stupidity. It’s like people ask for people to disrespect them so they have something to complain about. Like ‘well I’m bored….let’s start some drama’. I know in my heart I want the best for everyone that really love me and the ones I love.

IDK…..I just feel fed up with the way this society is. And it’s even worse to see people who were once unique, fall into the exact thing they were fighting against. Is my will stronger than most? Am I living wrong? Do people really not care what I say unless I have a beat in the background? Do people not understand how I feel towards them and that having my love for them questioned pisses me off after I have proven it 100 times over? People changing like it’s no tomorrow…..or am I the one changing and everyone else the same? I concentrate on everything but myself too much. It’s easy for me to express my emotions where for others it’s like hell to talk them out. Maybe it’s just because I’m different. I see the world as a rotating song and nobody thinks like I do. Those that think what’s in my head have only gotten to the cranium level and haven’t gotten to my brain. These days people judge too, going off what they hear and not what they know. Cherish those unknown over the ones who have been there for them. I don’t do that. Also, people who know they are having issues take it out on you and blame you and make it seem like you must apologize every single time like they are perfect! That’s nonsense! Like I am not perfect, people make mistakes….and those who hold mistakes on people for a long time will end up hurt in return. IDK….maybe I’m alone in how I feel on some things. Should I change perspective? Hmmmmmm…….

I just appreciate everything. Even if others don’t return theirs as obvious. IDK why I’m rambling lol…..as usual, I talk too much. But, there is always someone who listen………or………………………..reads! lol

Well, I have been noticing some things for a little while I wanted to address. Basically dealing with both annoyance and udder stupidity. Like some of the antics guys play on women and some things women play on guys. And quite frankly I'm tired of both scenarios. Let's delve into these subjects shall we?

***This applies to SOME men and women.......not all***

GUYS:

1. The Games: Real talk, a lot of guys do play games. Women don't just get this conception out of nowhere like it's made up. For example, let's say a guy likes a girl. Okay, so that means he should show her right? Not ignore her right? What sense does it make to say, yo...I like you a lot, I'd like to take you out.....but then not talk to her? But then we want to get upset when she feels like she being played with? That's senseless. All I know is if you like somebody not only tell them, but act like it. Like dang, it's not hard. IT'S NOT HARD!

Another scenario is fronting. This is a huge problem! lol. Fronting is messed up because no matter how huge the front is, it will always be found out. Now, sometimes the front can last for a long time, but women are good at finding things out. Yeah, act like you're the best guy ever while having a horrible past record and you will get exposed. Simple as that.

NOW THIS IS WHERE I HAVE A PROBLEM!

Let's say a guy really is a good guy right? And he is telling a woman all the right things she wants to hear. He's nice, cares, shows compassion, everything. NOW what if he really is this way? What if he really wouldn't hurt her like she has before?

WELL.....

Now we must attack this. Say the same girl listening to him is saying she hears him, BUT is really ignoring since she already had a guy say the exact same thing and hurt her? Can we say they are to blame when they have a legitimate reason to not believe? Is this not hurting the real good guy when a deceiving guy has stolen his identity? How is one to convince her that he is real?

2. Lying: Guys...............................don't! Simple as that.

3. Cheating: Yeah we always get the bad image that we cheat. And no, not all of us do! Like I have been saying recently. I DON'T GET IT! I couldn't live with myself. And I never will cheat. Like is it an ego test? This also confuses me....real talk. Then after the girl finds out, she is devastated. So in turn, this giver her future insecurities. Which is not fair to the next guy.

Again Guys...........................don't! Simple as that.

P.S. - Don't give her a reason to suspect it either!

4. Respect?: Yeah this one is pretty simple. Basically not respecting a woman is wrong. She wants you to be proud of her. But if she got a past of a guy who disrespected and ignored her, then more likely any guy that shows her the respect she looking could be a trap.

5. Sex: Yuuuup, if she thinks that's all we want, then she will feel we don't care about her character or personality. It's also got to be some emotional connection, not ONLY physical.

Girls

1. The Games: Yes, the games go both ways. And they get old fast. Sometimes women play games either because they think they are always more mature than the guy or they know they have the guy where they know he wont leave no matter what she does. And don't get me started with the jealous game! Sometimes if a guy even flinches his attention from the girl she questions it. Or tells him about a guy she noticed to make him jealous. DON'T.

NOW THIS ONE REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!

Don't tell me the same thing you tell EVERY guy. Yes guys will read deep into what you say sometimes. And yes some women will lead you on just because they can and want a good laugh? But no guy wants to find out that the same thing you tell him is what you tell everyone else. ESPECIALLY, if you tell him he is in a special category. Like for example, you tell a guy hey I like you. Now okay, he is thinking (if he likes you back), hey I like you too, and she is saying all the (little cute things) guys think women say when they like a guy.

NOW...

Say he sees the same girl tell every other guy the same exact thing. Should he take offense if he didn't know you were that way to begin with? Is he weak for thinking he was special? Is the girl to blame for being manipulative? All of the answers to these questions will be different for each situation. But, it's is very annoying and I HATE it......

2. Lying: Same for you.........DON'T haha

3. NIGGAS?: This is another fail I have been seeing. Don't say "niggas ain't nothing" just because another girl says it. Don't say it because one guy screwed up, because mainly I'm not classified as just a 'nigga'. I'm above that. And yes, I have gone off on someone for saying that. We are not all the same. Pre-judging a guy already builds a perception in your mind that it won't work out. Give him a chance. Next, if you continue to go after the same type of guy, "nigga" (I hate putting nigga in this because I don't say it), then just maybe you will keep getting the same results. Maybe giving another type of guy a chance will save you from more heart ache and more stress. ALSO, the complaining about one race of guys has to stop. All men have their flaws and no man will ever be perfect, no matter the complexion.

4. Nice Guys Are Weak?: Hmmm, I have heard this a couple times. This one will be short. Now, nice guys actually do exist (don't pay attention to them being listed as 'extinct' in science books..lol..). But yeah, sometimes if a guy is too nice, the emotions get played with. Like it will always be okay to screw the guy over and not expect him to say anything. Yes, he will let things build up and be silent for a while (stupid haha) but yes, he gets overlooked from other guys flamboyant stupidity (the way of society). Nice guys are not weak, they just care a lot. If you're used to an ignorant guy, try getting used to a real guy.

5. Violence?: Uuuummmm...yeeeeaaaah if a guy hit's you, it's over....simple as that. It's sad when a girl stays with a guy after he hits her..smh..It's also sad I have to address this. Plain and simple: LEAVE.....

Well, this basically wraps up my current mentality. Leave all the comments you want!!!!!!!!!!! Like I always say, everything I say and write is from the heart. Nothing is a game to me.

I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm back. I know it's been a LONG time since I last blogged. I have been super busy. Life has been all over the place for me, but I'm back. I'm still taking request for artists to blog about (help me out!). Let's go!!!!!!

JAY-Z--------JESUS CAN'T SAVE YOU?

NOW, I would be the first to admit that once I heard Jay-Z said this, I wanted to call him the worst person in the world. Listening to it the first couple times through, I never even picked it up. The beat was so powerful, that my mind put the lyrics to the side (as amateur listeners of music do) and just paid attention to the instruments and how well they blended.

In "New York State of Mind", he states, "And Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends." WOW! I know right. He is obviously mocking Jesus and putting down Christianity.

WRONG!

Yes, he could have worded it differently. I wouldn't say it. LET ME EXPLAIN:

Context: This song is about NewYork. They city where Jay-Z is from. (DUH!) In the section that he says this phrase, he talks about a good girl gone bad. Phrases like, "Mommy took a bus trip and now she got her bust out, everybody ride her, just like a bus route..." I see it as the woman going to church even though she has repeatedly sinned and goes to church. Then she realizes that even though she goes to church and puts on a show of being righteous, she is still stuck in the same position as when she first entered. When he says, "Jesus can't save you....", he means that he save her from her present state. As if she is not willing to accept Him and will continue her sinning after she leaves church----when he says, "Life starts when the church ends.". I really don't think he would say this knowing of the backlash.

New Boyz: Skiny Jeans or Annoying things

OKAY!....Um, I'm just shaking my head right now. The only song I have heard from them before this review was 'You're A Jerk'. I didn't pay it any attention. I thought, "Hey, this is a fun song, but nothing to pay real attention to." Maybe they would have something more serious. We'll find out later on in this post.

BUT, this is the blog where I take ALL suggestions to do a review on. So recently, Genesys16------follow him on twitter!!!------, requested me to review them. So........

THIS IS HOW I SEE IT:





1. Clothing = A+.... From my perspective, I like their style. Many people forget that the jean style came to fame in the 80's....YES THE 80's! It's a west coast thing. For everyone to understand, we would have had to examine the west coast scene for years. Me personally, I think I can pull the look off, as long as I can rock my Cubs hat, I'm good. And one point I have to make clear: THEY ARE NOT GAY!

2. Sound: Now their sound is catchy, don't get me wrong. But, this is from my view. I like a TON of base in my music, enough to put me near death. Their sound is very light, but the thing that saved this was it's electro sound. The synths are laied in pretty good and it mixed up paces throughout the track pretty good. The best sounding song has to go to Cricketz and Turnt.

3. Lyrics: Okay, their lyrics aren't that deep, but they get their point across. IT'S ALL ABOUT GIRLS! As if nobody could tell. Some situation are fun the way they put it together. Also, I hear a little New Jack trying to come through in this album. But, they don't go deep enough for me. I know they aren't going for seriousness here, but hey I won't go too hard on them since it's their debut album.

4. Competition? I've listened to the whole album and I have to say......Legacy is way better! He goes harder and sounds better. Now, this may be bad for the duo down the line, but as of now they are okay. Not saying Ben J has no talent, just that Legacy is better.

5. Overall: The compilation of the album is kind of all over the place. It leads off with energetic sound and then goes slow towards the end. This is the opposite of what an album is supposed to do. The listener remembers what it last heard so if they remember a string of R & B song from people who DON'T sing, then it will be a turn off. I would have put 100% fast songs on here and left the slow one for the sophomore album.

FINALLY: My verdict is 3/5 stars. For this being a freshman album, there are many bright spots. They have an energetic style and make it look fun. Seriously, they make me want to move the the west coast RIGHT NOW! Trust me, they have a lot of promise. I believe the more experience they get in the industry, the better! If they can get this popular with the raw talent they have, I can't imagine the future.

A KID NAMED CUDI-----CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!!

Well, the title explains it all. Kid Cudi changed my life. I've made this assumption based on his studio album, "Man on the Moon" and this mixtape, "A Kid Named Cudi". His lyrics are something like I've never heard before. For years, Lupe Fiasco has been my favorite rapper. Everyone knows that. I never thought I would hear someone that would come close to match his flow of genius. The aspect that strikes me is they way he makes it seem like I can relate to him.

This mixtape includes a couple songs from the album. I literally couldn't stop listening to this! I felt addicted.

Well, enough of my blabbering!
THIS IS HOW I SEE IT:


1. THIS IS NEW MATERIAL!!!: Too many rappers use lyrics from other artist and just put their own style on it. With Cudi, he always says phrases that only he would say and his rhyming schemes are classic and unexpected. Some artist are so bad, that we could literally guess what the next word would be.

2. AMAZING INSTRUMENTALS: These instrumentals are excellent. The strings are awesome and his voice blends very well. My favorite ones are: ALL OF THEM! But seriously, Is There Any Love has the throwback feel of 60/70's blended instruments. It sounds like something from a James Brown sample to me. Awesome!

3. Substance: This mixtape has some of the most substance ever. There are 0 bad songs on here and every song is over 2 minutes (besides the intro). Each song has a message and you can take away something to think about.

4. Lyrics!: Every song is lyrically deep! Seriously, the first time I heard it, I couldn't move. This man is one the most influential people on my writing! After listening to his words, he gave me more confidence. If something or someone is trying to bring you down, listen to this! SERIOUSLY! He talks about how hard it was growing up and how he deals. I can't even explain some of his lyrics......I'm still stunned. A+!!! LISTEN TO IT. I literally cried on his songs because he makes you think of what you overcame and how we can deal with our memories.

5. As my life is right now, I'm beginning to see why people get drunk and high. NOT THAT I DO!!! It's just that when certain people are pushed to the edge for so long, they lose it. I believe my day is coming. He smokes a lot and it's one way how he get's his lyrics.

I SURVIVED A GUCCI MANE MIXTAPE!!!

Okay everyone, like the title says, "I survived." I never listen to Gucci! Personally, I think he is one of the worst rappers to ever gain popularity. He's just the poster child for what hip hop has become; COMMERCIAL. Yes, commercial. Artist coming out with the, 'I'm just like you' aspect has gone away and real artists are overshadowed by lames like this.

BUT, in fairness, I chose to give him a chance. I had only heard his songs on the radio up until this point and the radio is just garbage right now.

As requested, I downloaded the mixtape titled, Demolition. I must admit I had a bias to just not pay attention while he spoke, but I listened to his lyrics. This is how I see it:

1. I'm sick of the BURRS!!!! Seriously, SICK! Using a made up word to make your song longer shows no lyrical talent.

2. Bad lyrical content period. There is no serious content to take to heart. All there is is icing things. Icing things? Really? You can't rap about anything else?

3. This music doesn't relate to me. I'm a true student of music. I look up lyrics all the time to get a full grasp of the message an artist is saying. On the first 2 tracks (Bill and Constipated), he is just talking about ICE. I know it's winter, but damn! Come on! Ice is not going to get me to heaven.

4. This one pisses me off too. In 'Cuffin', he says, "I don't want to marry her....like O.J. Simpson, I just want to stab her"......LAME!!! Seriously, creatively disrespecting women is accepted in our society, but this isn't even CREATIVE!

5. Freestyles? The freestyles are super short and are weak. He just says things I've heard before!.....She think I'm handsome? This the matrix? I'm in the back, finna smoke somethin? HEARD THEM ALL!!!

6. Time? Why is only 4 songs over 2 minutes? Um, perhaps he ran out of words? Found out how wack he was and quit? Hmmm...I wonder

7. THE INSTRUMENTALS! There are a couple instrumentals that are good like on, Constipated, Diamond, Kiesha, Soldier, and Trouble....but the rest are extremely repetitive. Repetitiveness takes away from the excitement of waiting for the next track. If the next song sounds the same, there is a decreasing of interest.

AND FINALLY!
8. HIS VOICE!! Seriously, he just sounds slow. I don't get the appeal of some people. It sounds like he raps lazy and doesn't care. No substance + bad voice = FAIL!
